Raising your voice...

Raising your voice when no one else dared
Out of fear of rattling cages, built of lies and dread
Screaming, in the streets of the south and the global north
to expose the truth and make the responsible pay
for 70 years of pricing children
but never of loving them
Showing the world the face of anger and hurt that produces a system so corrupt, classist and capitalist but still ever so painted in words like child protection and humanitarian aid
Sticking your nose in the affairs of politicians and the upper class to reveal how they sold the dignity of an entire country to build and sustain child trafficking
How did you forget that the diary always holds a blank page
Even after thousands of entries of darkness
An opportunity to heal, letter by letter, word by word
Learning from the tough days
Their weight giving force and color to a new day
Of course it hurts, day after day, tainted by anguish and sorrow
Months and years trapped in the traumas of a stolen childhood
The pages become harder to turn
Like if they weighed a ton
Like if the story were over, like if there were no tomorrow, like if it were all done
Now you fight and write in another place
Maybe for another cause
But surely you’re doing it for justice and love
Wherever your are, there is no fear of being who you are, feeling what you feeling or of your own reflection which scared so many here
Keep demonstrating in the next life for the dignity of all of mankind
Enjoy a reality without hopeless grief
A reality made up of community and unconditional support
